Chris Stapleton shares the view ‘From A Room’

Chris Stapleton, who impressed London audiences with his appearance at last year’s C2C Festival, has announced a new album.

‘From A Room: Volume 1’, due on 5 May, is being released exactly two years after his 2015 debut solo LP ‘Traveller’ broke out of Nashville with one of the best-selling first weeks by a debut country artist in 2015.

Six months later, it became the first album to re-enter the US Billboard 200 album chart at #1, after Stapleton became the first artist ever to win Album of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and New Artist of the Year at one CMA Awards show. Unsurprisingly, then, it became the best-selling Country album of 2016 in the US.

Its follow-up, again produced by Dave Cobb, takes its name from RCA Studio A in Nashville where recording took place during winter 2016-17 with Stapleton on vocals and guitar, the producer on acoustic guitar, Morgane Stapleton on harmony vocals, long-time band-members J.T. Cure on bass and Derek Mixon on drums, and musicians Mickey Raphael on harmonica, Robby Turner on pedal steel, and Mike Webb on keys.

‘From A Room: Volume 1’ features eight original songs – including first single ‘Either Way’ and ‘Second One To Know’, which was premiered at the 52nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards – and a rendition of ‘Last Thing I Needed, First Thing This Morning’, made famous by Willie Nelson.

From A Room: Volume 2’ will be released later this year.
