Proto Idiot play ‘For Dummies’ in London

Manchester garage-rock trio Proto Idiot are headed to London – twice – over the coming months.

The band, founded in 2007 by The Hipshakes guitarist Andrew Anderson, play VegCafe on 26 May. Just over a month later they’re back, supporting ‘60s ‘Forever Changes’ legends Love at Jazz Café on 29 June.

The former one-man band, rounded out by bassist Michael Floyd Seal and drummer Callum Trent D’Arley in 2014, are also preparing to release their new album, ‘For Dummies’, on 27 May.

Its 13 lo-fi fuzz pop tracks, which mix ‘60s garage with ‘70s glam and ‘80s oddball, reveal traces of The Kinks, Soft Boys, and TV Personalities.
