Massive Attack head for Hyde Park

Massive Attack will be joined by Patti Smith, TV On The Radio, Young Fathers, Warpaint, and Ghostpoet for a big day of music at British Summer Time Hyde Park on 1 July 2016.

Robert “3D” Del Naja and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall have recently completed a sold-out UK tour, which included two Brixton Academy shows in February and featured a new audio-visual show co-designed by Del Naja.

Patti Smith, the singer-songwriter, poet, writer, and activist synonymous with the late ‘70s New York music scene, last year celebrated the 40th anniversary of her landmark album ‘Horses’.

Edinburgh trio Young Fathers are fresh off supporting Massive Attack on their recent European tour and their 2015 album ‘White Men Are Black Men Too’ builds on the success of their Mercury Prize-winning debut ‘Dead’.

Making their Hyde Park debut are Brooklyn indie rockers TV On The Radio, last seen in London at The Roundhouse last year supporting their 2014 album ‘Seeds’.

Californian four-piece Warpaint are currently finishing off the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2014 self-titled album and will be hitting the Hyde Park stage after spending some time focused on solo work.

London-based Ghostpoet, who arrived on the scene with the 2011 Mercury-nominated ‘Peanut Butter & Melancholy Jam’, returned to the spotlight last year, receiving another Mercury nomination for ‘Shedding Skin’.

Tickets go on sale on 11 March 2016.
