Broken Witt Rebels sharing ‘Georgia Pine’ on tour

Broken Witt Rebels storm into 2016 with a new EP and a series of live dates.

The band, who release the five track ‘Georgia Pine’ in April, play London Water Rats on 2 April 2016. They return to the capital a little over a month later (at Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 8 May) as the main support on Brantley Gilbert’s UK tour.

‘Georgia Pine’ was engineered and produced by Tom Gittins, who’s worked on recent Robert Plant recordings, and finds the Birmingham four-piece paying homage to the sounds of old blues and Stax guitarists.

Comparisons to Alabama Shakes and Black Keys have been made, while Gittins likens the band’s singer, Danny Core, to soulful blues vocalists Joe Cocker and Steve Marriot.

Core, Luke Davis (vocals, bass guitar), James Dudley(drums), and James Tranter (vocals, lead guitar) spent 2015 growing their profile, with performances at the Camden Rocks Festival and The Time Out Best of Rising Stars 2015 at the Jazz Café.

For a taster of their new music, ‘Low’, the first single from ‘Georgia Pine’, is currently streaming on Classic Rock Magazine’s website ahead of its release on 26 February.
