Jared James Nichols goes for glory

Singer-songwriter and guitarist Jared James Nichols is set to play an intimate London show as part of a mini UK tour.

The Wisconsin-born, Los Angeles-based musician will play The Blackheart, London on 23 June ahead of his special guest slot on Glenn Hughes’ European tour that kicks off in September.

The 25-year-old rising blues-rock star has certainly come a long way since getting his first electric guitar at the age of 14. Practising for 12 hours every day, it wasn’t long before he was sharing stages with the likes of Buddy Guy, as well as opening for Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Derek Trucks. By the age of 21, he’d played over 500 gigs.

Following a short stint at Boston’s Berklee School of Music, he headed to Los Angeles, attracting the attention of ‘Guitar World’ and ‘Guitar Player’ magazines – as well as Sony/MTV’s Hype Music Publishing – with his first EP, 2012’s ‘Live at the Viper Room’.

Aerosmith engineer Warren Huart and Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix’s legendary producer) were just as impressed. They helped craft a debut album, ‘Old Glory & The Wild Revival’, that kicked his career into overdrive.

Since its release Nichols has performed at NAMM, SXSW, and the iconic Sturgis Buffalo Chip Festival (alongside the likes of ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Kid Rock) before making his first venture across Europe and the UK this past summer.

Now, see him in London on 23 June 2015 at The Blackheart in Camden.
